I love the primitive nature of running. It’s something humans have been doing for tens of thousands of years. Trail running taps me into this ancestral connection more often than anything else in my life.
I feel like I need to remind myself that I’m an animal and I’m a part of a long lineage of physical beings.
The trail is where I allow myself to be a primate, an animal, a human being climbing a mountain. - Alex
